Tom Seeley is a trained divorce mediator and experienced attorney who works exclusively with clients who choose to seek resolution of their divorce and family law matters outside of the court room through divorce mediation and collaborative law. In addition to mediation, Tom has practiced matrimonial and family law in New York for more than fifteen (15) years and is the owner of Law Office of Thomas W. Seeley, PC.
Tom encourages clients to integrate mindfulness, healthy habits, physical activity, and other holistic practices into their daily lives to help manage the range of emotions experienced during divorce. In doing so, he has found that divorcing clients can more easily develop mutual understanding and emerge from this emotionally challenging time unmarried, unattached and with as little emotional baggage as possible.
Tom completed his divorce mediation training at the New York Peace Institute in New York City. He received his Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law in 2003 and his B.S. in Newspaper Journalism from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School in 1994. Tom is a member of the New York State Council on Divorce Mediation.
In addition, Tom is a certified life coach and 200-hour trained yoga teacher. He practices mindfulness meditation and has learned from various teachers, including Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield, Karen Maezen Miller and the Zen Center of Syracuse Hoen-ji.
Tom has served on a number of community boards, including Skaneateles Education Foundation, Inc., Auburn Public Theater, Inc., Skaneateles Sunrise Rotary Club, Inc., and Cub Scout Pack 161, for which he was Cubmaster for many years.
